Tokyo ! : Arrival

I'm writing right now from my warm comfortable futon in my cozy Tokyo room. To be honest I haven't been able to do much yet, since we only arrived here yesterday evening (our time off course ;) ) and I have been struggling with the time difference a bit. I guess that's what they call a jet lag ^^.

We flew from Amsterdam to Istanbul and from Istanbul to Tokyo with Turkish Airlines, which I would really recommend as the flight staff was really nice, the food was great and they gave us so much of it O.O I loved it! <3

=

For dinner my bf made his delicious home made miso soup, I have actually not yet found one I like as much ^^

Leaving for Tokyo!

I am leaving to go to the airport in half an hour! I am sooo super excited! Yesterday I bought a new camera with my christmas money ( my old one really sucked too much xD ) While I'll be staying there, I will try to blog every three days from my bf's laptop. So stay tuned!

Gyaru meme - Day 01

Oomph, I have really been swamped lately, well actually since the beginning of this schoolyear T^T But my internship will be over in only two weeks from now and then I will get my life back!! For now I wanted to try something really cute Lizzie from Eternise-Moi and a friend of her came up with. She called it the Gyaru Meme and the idea is that you take 30 'days' with each day a post about your Gyaru look, wants needs.. everything gal xD

So today I'll do day 01: When did you start dressing Gyaru?

Looking back now, I don't see anything really gal in this picture. In my defense though, I had just found out about gyaru (like a month or something before this picture) and I just immediately was really enthousiastic about it, which should count for something right xD ?

Anyway I went to my first meeting that day (here) and felt super gal and super confident walking down the streets. I was like: "I look sooo cute/hot! Yeah, go gyarus!" :3 The funniest thing was, I had never used eyeliner or eyeshadow before and I did not even know what to do about contouring yet.. Yep, kind of embarrassing :$ At least I think I improved a lot since then, expecially in the make-up department, thank goodness!

Hope you liked this kind of looking back post,

Nijmegen Gyaru meeting

In my last post, I already said I would be going to a Gal meet-up this in Nijmegen last weekend. Kuro organised it and she did a really good job. As it was somewhat further away, Zoë and I decided to travel all the way east together^^ The meet was a lot of fun! We were with only seven, so a smaller group again this time. I actually find I like these kinds of meets more than the bigger ones, as it feels more like a group of friends hanging out.

We first met at the station and from there walked to Bagels and Beans to have lunch ( a change from the sushi at most other meets ;) )

When I was in high school, we used to go here every week at least once! Though that was not in Nijmegen -.^ Still, I loved the food soooo much! Marieke and me had the same: toscany cream cheese bagelsss <3

Afterwards we went into the city for some 'shopping' and the much neede selfies at Primark xD So here's a selection:

With Prince Elliot, she joined for the first time, it was nice meeting her.

With Zoë and Kuro! I found out I really like MA*RS, Zoë looked so cute in it. It's not for me though..

With Marieke! Jeej she looked so cute in hime!

Haha the mirror was to small for all of us!

Haha, we kind of hogged the mirror for quite some time! In the and people started looking at us a bit strange ^^ Well never mind, it was still a lot of fun!

Afterwards we decided we needed to go and make some group pics outside.

Haha perfect example of the gyaru culture! xD
Everybody together! <3

Everybody looked so great! I was feeling quite under-dressed xD I am not sure why, but I was feeling like a more casual coord. I will have to step it up next time!

I have some sad news as well though :( I will not be going to Hyper Japan in Londen anymore... I will probably go to Nishicon instead! This is a bit closer to home and somewhat smaller, but also very nice I think. So although it is quite the disappointment, Nishicon will still be fun ^^

I hope you liked my meet report? I am already looking forward to next time. After every meet I just feel so excited to do more gyaru <3

Upcoming meets

It has been a while since I have last been to a Gal meet! But I fortunately have some planned for the (very near) future. I am really looking forward to them , as there are even some big international ones ^^

Nijmegen Gyaru meet

This saturday we will be meeting with the Dutch Gals in Nijmegen. This meet is actually for no real reason or anything, more because it has been such a long time for everybody to get together. You will hear more about this next week. ( I am so excited!! )

Hyper Japan

A friend of mine has started studying in the UK this year. As we went to Animecon together last year, here, we made a pact for me to come visit here and go to Hyper Japan together in Londen. It's supposed to be one of the biggest Japan conferences in Europe. Hopefully we will also meet some Brittish gals there -.^

International Gyaru Lovers Winter Meet

This meet is held every year in Germany for four years now. Gals come here for all over Europe. Eventhough it is only in January, I am already planning together with the other Dutch Gyaru how to go and where to stay ^^ Also a friend of mine from Luxembourg is coming and I am looking forward to seeing her again. Plus I hope to meet some of the great gals I follow, like Ina Doll and Frederica D from Vanilla Syndrome (yup I am a little fan girl xD)

OshareCon

This one is even further away in march, but it is already being hyped pretty big by the organisation. I am thinking of maybe even being a model in the gyaru fashion show (if they will have me:3). There will be activities like a tea party, naildeco workshop, fashion shows and a fair \(^o^)/ It's probably going to get so awesome!

Also, though this is not at all really planned yet, we were thinking of organising a karaoke meet in december somewhere maybe. This month is probably very busy though so let's wait and see how that goes ^^

So many nice things planned! What do you normally like best about gal meets? for me it's seeing these great people again and hanging out with people who like the same things I do <3

Liebster awards nomination \(^o^)/

So I came home after a really stressful tough day at my internship the other day and I had two of the nicest surprises in like ever waiting for me. 1. The super sweet, totally awesome Kuro of Coffinbride has nominated me for the Liebster award <3 2. My package from PinkyParadise with free shipping finally arrived! So I was of course immediately back to my normal cheerful self. Let's first talk about the Liebster award:

I really like this award, because I think, since I only just started blogging, you might like getting to know me better -.^ So let's do this!

Questions:

1. How long have you been blogging?

I actually had to look this one up, because I really had no clue. Buuuut it turns out I have already been blogging for seven months. Those went by so fast, I really thought it could only have been like four months at most. We even missed the half year anniversary O.o Well I'll just make the real anniversary extra big!

2. What is your favourite part about blogging?

I like this question. My favourite part is probably the creative outlet, even though I already have a rather creative study. Plus it makes me feel more part of the Gyaru community and keeps me more involved, when I do not have that much time for dressing up much (like now). Also when I was little I really wanted to become a writer (and in secret I kind of still do).

3. Favourite clothing brand?

For Gal my favourite brand would definitely be Glavil. I love how it has an almost goth feeling to it, but still is feminine and cute. I am really looking forward to going to Japan and going to the Glavil store! (I will be so broke afterwards.. but definitely worth it!) For normal clothing, I like Romwe or H&M Divided the most.

4. Have you traveled to other countries, if so which ones and if not where would you like to go?

I have lived in Spain for 5 months. I still really want to go to Japan and Australia.

5. If someone would give you a $1000, what would you spend it on?

Travelling and the decoration of my future home with my bf!  Also probably expanding my wardrobe and cocktails.. What can I say, I am pretty good at spending money XD

6. What is the one thing you can't live without?

Maybe a bit corny, but I couldn't live without my bf and my family. I have lived away from them for some time and it got me totally depressed not to be able to speak to them that often. Also liquorice :3 I am a huge addict!

7. Which of the seven deadly sins applies most to you?

Haha, I personally think I am pretty sinful, so this is a hard one. I guess the best for me would be lust. I lust after ALL the beautiful clothes XD

8. Favourite song at the moment?

Bad Girlfriend - Theory of a Deadman

9. Have you ever bought something that you really didn't like in the end?

YES, I used to be really awful at this. When I got clothing money for the first time from my parents for example, I bought a cardigan I didn't wear for over a year. Now I do wear it sometimes, but only inside the house.

10. Favourite colour of eye shadow?

I always wear bronze or brown, but my favourite would be lavender definitely. I just think it might look weird on me.

11. Do you follow any TV shows / animes at the moment ?

I have followed The Vampire Diaries for years. It is really the only show I ever watched all the way through and still like. It also helps I am very much in love with one of the main characters; Damon Salvator.. My bf says he doesn't mind XD

Random Facts

I drink at least five cups of tea everyday. I think I should have been English!

When I was younger, I used to fantasize about being able to do magic. (Favourite show used to be Winx Club, no surprise there.

I am verrrry much afraid of needles, don't want those things anywhere near me.

I love piercings, which is a very difficult contradiction to the previous fact..

I am not really a cities person, I prefer being in nature.

There is never not a song playing in my head.

When I finally have an evening to my self I often spend it just reading and sipping my beloved cups of tea.

When I move out of my current 'no pets allowed'- home I want a bunny!

I have been a pescotarian since I was 9 years old.

I can not sit still. Ever.

Alcohol and me don't always agree, I am always hangover after a night out.

My Questions

  1. What is your favorite thing in the whole world?
  2. Who is your celebrity crush?
  3. What's the one clothing item you couldn't do without?
  4. If you could only wear one make-up item, what would it be?
  5. What do you suck at?
  6. If you had a tote animal, what would it be?
  7. What is your biggest dream?
  8. What are your top 3 guilty pleasures?
  9. What would be your dream outfit?
  10. What do you think is your most redeeming quality?
  11. Have you ever had regrets about something you did?

Gaijin Gyaru: big inspirations

A lot of people have made posts about which Japanese Gals they find inspiring, but not so much about the Gaijin gals. why not? I personally think rhay aee even more inspiring sice for us gaijin gyaru the style is harder to pull of and getting rhe clothes, make-up atricles , magazines and meeting other gals is much harder as well. So here is a list of Gaijin Gals I think are great examples and my personal inspirations:

Ina Doll

She is so great! The perfect rokku gal imo. I love how she really has her own style and looks cute in everything she does <3 Plus green hair// Need I say more?

Blog: www.wonderland-gone-mad.com
LookBook: lookbook.nu/inadoll

Frederica D

Another really cool gal. She does a lot of different styles, but There's always something really typical her mixed in. Also I love that she not only wears lots of brands, but makes a lot of coords with no-brand clothes as well. I get a lot of new shopping places from reading her blog ;)

Blog: vanilla-syndrome.blogspot.nl
LookBook: lookbook.nu/vanillasyndrome

Jojo

A Dutch girl like me, so I met her at some of the Dutch gyaru meetings and she is a really nice person and I think it is awesome that she wears gal everyday! Outside of Japan, people think you are strange for standing out and they don't get it, but she just wears it because she likes it, and looks awesome while doing so as well! A great inspiration for me ^^

Blog: koakuma-jojo.blogspot.nl

Xin Hui

She is a make-up queen! I love how she plays with different colours and can be verrrrry over the top in her make, but it's never messy and she always looks perf ^^ The first tutorial I ever watched, was actually hers. I want to become as good as she is!

Blog: thechroniclesofxinhui.com

Viivi

 idkuva

Viivi used to be very active in the gal scene, but now she isn't anymore. I am not sure why. She always has great nails and I really liked hedr coords! You can never have to much inspirations ;)

Blog: www.blacksaliva.org

So what do you think? Who do you think are your most inspirational Gaijin Gals?
I just realised, I should do more outfit posts and such :$ I'm now just waiting for some parcels to arrive, but then I promise ^^

New Gyaru for Beginners

Sooo remember how I told you before about Taylor Indiana's series called Gyaru for Beginners? In this series she explains about the absolute basic things every new gal should know in a very nice and understandable way. It is really helpful, as she is planning on touching on practically things from contouring to how to make the perfect coord. Before she has already posted about choosing the right kind of circle lensesChoosing and applying lashes and now she is writing a subseries about eyemake, as it is the most complex part of a gal's make.

After having waited a long time it has finally really started and she posted about the tools you need (also for smaller budgets ^^) and eyeshapes, the article you can find here. It is very interesting in  my opinion. I never knew there were so many different eyeshapes O.o

I think I have the 'almond eyes', how about you guys? The whole make changes with your eyeshape, so next she will be explaining how to do the basic eyemake shapes. I can't wait!

Gyaru Closet

I have been super busy these last weeks, sorry!! My internship now started for real, bf came back from his vacation, all the uni stuff has started as well and I joined a new fraternity .. I love this kind of busy!

I have not really had time for anything gal related though, which is too bad T^T. Buuut I thought of something you might find interesting: my Gyaru wardrobe! As I have been getting more and more into gal recently, I have been building me a gal wardrobe for about 5 months now I guess? Anyway, I am really proud and happy about the pieces I collected to far.

Take a look <3:

(Left to right: DreamV, H&M)

(Left to right: Glavil, H&M, Primark)

(Left to right: DIA, Primark, H&M)

(All Glavil, these are my favorites <3 )

(DIA moonbelt, I love this so much! My bf is still going to make it just a bit wider for me, since it turned out to be a bit small O.o)

As you can see, it is not that much -.- what can I, say students are poor..

I do feel really bad for having neglected my blog this much lately. I promise improvement ! Expect a new post within this week .

Much Love!
